Accepting payments in Pakistan
Pakistan is a mobile-wallet market. Most online buyers pay with JazzCash and Easypaisa, with instant bank transfers over Raast (the State Bank of Pakistan's instant payment system) and IBFT via 1LINK, and less often with Visa, Mastercard or the domestic PayPak scheme. Card penetration is low and PayPal is not available locally, which is why foreign SaaS, freelancers and exporters keep searching for a payment gateway in Pakistan that can both collect PKR and pay out. {count} providers on this page declare Pakistan coverage.
Local methods and rails
- Mobile money in Pakistan — JazzCash, Easypaisa and other wallets, usually the highest-converting pay-in.
- Bank transfer — Raast (account number or IBAN alias) and IBFT, also the main payout rail.
- Cards and recurring payments — relevant for subscriptions; check whether local cards are enabled for international e-commerce.
- Other local APMs and crypto for cross-border settlement.
How to choose a PSP in Pakistan
- Licensing: local PSOs/PSPs are licensed by the SBP; foreign gateways usually work through a licensed partner — ask who holds the merchant relationship.
- Settlement: PKR to a local account, or conversion to USD/USDT for foreign merchants; check repatriation timelines.
- Payouts: mass payouts to wallets and bank accounts via Raast/IBFT, per-transaction limits.
- KYB and verticals: e-commerce and SaaS onboard more easily; betting, casino and forex traffic is restricted and is typically served through P2P processing.
High-risk and P2P
For iGaming, betting and forex flows, P2P pay-in and payout via wallet and bank accounts of traders is common. Clarify conversion rates on deposits, daily capacity and how blocked accounts are handled.
