Payment processing in Peru
Peru has one of Latin America's fastest-growing wallet ecosystems. Yape and Plin — interoperable mobile wallets linked to bank accounts — are used daily for person-to-person and merchant payments, often by scanning a QR code. Cards are common in cities, and cash paid through banking agents and convenience stores with a payment code remains important for unbanked customers. Banks and e-money issuers are supervised by the SBS; online gaming and sports betting have been licensed by MINCETUR since the 2024 regulation came into force. {count} providers on this page declare Peru coverage.
Payment methods in Peru
- E-wallets — Yape, Plin and other wallets, QR payments.
- Bank transfer — interbank transfers (CCI) and instant transfers; main payout rail in PEN.
- Cards — local debit and credit cards, installments.
- Cash — payment codes paid at agents and stores.
- Crypto — USDT for cross-border settlement.
How to choose a PSP in Peru
- Wallet coverage: whether Yape/Plin payments are confirmed automatically or need manual matching.
- Cash network: how many agents and stores accept the payment code, and how fast cash payments are confirmed.
- Settlement: PEN locally or USD abroad; Peru is partially dollarised, so some merchants also accept USD.
- Payouts: payouts to bank accounts and wallets, limits and timing.
- Verticals: licensed betting and casino operators need a PSP that supports MINCETUR requirements; offshore operators should check risk policy explicitly.
