Payment service providers in Indonesia
Indonesia is Southeast Asia's largest digital economy, and cards play a small role: most online orders are paid by bank virtual account, QR or e-wallet. This page lists {count} payment gateways and payin payout providers working with Indonesian rupiah (IDR).
Local payment methods in Indonesia
- Virtual accounts (VA): a unique bank account number per order at BCA, Mandiri, BNI, BRI and others; paid from mobile banking or ATM and reconciled automatically.
- QRIS: the national standard QR code that any bank app or wallet can scan.
- E-wallets: OVO, DANA, GoPay, ShopeePay, LinkAja — with deep links for mobile checkout.
- Retail outlets (Alfamart, Indomaret) for cash, cards for higher-income users, and crypto through registered exchanges.
Regulation
Payment service providers are licensed by Bank Indonesia (including QRIS and e-money), while OJK supervises banks, lending and, since 2025, crypto assets. Gambling is illegal in Indonesia and authorities actively block related payment accounts, so licensed gateways do not onboard gaming. Lending and investment apps need OJK licensing.
Payouts and disbursements
Disbursement APIs send money to bank accounts via BI-FAST and to e-wallets — used by marketplaces, ride-hailing, lending and creator platforms. Compare fees per transfer, bank coverage and name-validation features. See payouts.
How to choose an Indonesian PSP
- VA bank coverage and per-transaction fees
- QRIS MDR and wallet coverage, refund support
- Settlement in IDR vs USD and settlement timing
- Disbursement speed and failure handling
