Payment service providers in Brazil
Brazil is Latin America's biggest digital payments market, and since PIX launched in 2020 it has become the default way to pay online. This page lists {count} payment gateways, acquirers and payin payout providers that accept or pay out Brazilian reais (BRL).
Local payment methods in Brazil
- PIX: the Central Bank's instant payment system, by QR or key (CPF, phone, e-mail). Settles 24/7 in seconds; also the cheapest payout rail.
- Boleto bancário: a payable voucher, still used by the unbanked and for B2B, but slower to confirm — see cash methods.
- Cards with parcelamento (installments), where the customer splits a purchase into monthly payments; BNPL and recurring also exist.
- QR, e-wallets and payment links for social commerce.
Regulation and tax
Payment institutions are supervised by the Central Bank of Brazil (BCB). Fixed-odds betting became a regulated market in 2025: operators need federal authorisation and must accept payments only through authorised institutions, with PIX and debit methods allowed and credit cards and crypto restricted for bets. Cross-border collections often involve IOF tax and an eFX/foreign exchange partner.
iGaming, betting and high-risk
For bets and casino, check whether a provider works with licensed operators and supports CPF matching between payer and player account. Forex, crypto and other high-risk merchants should ask about rolling reserves and refund flows over PIX.
How to choose a Brazilian PSP
- PIX pay-in and payout fees, approval/conversion and settlement time (D+0 vs D+1)
- Installment card pricing and anticipation of receivables
- Local entity vs cross-border (offshore settlement in USD/USDT)
- Mass payouts via PIX to customers, affiliates or sellers
