Payment service providers in Bangladesh
In Bangladesh mobile financial services (MFS) are how most people pay and get paid: bKash and Nagad wallets reach tens of millions of users, far beyond card penetration. This page lists {count} payment gateways, P2P providers and processing teams working with Bangladeshi taka (BDT).
Local payment methods in Bangladesh
- bKash: the largest MFS wallet; merchant payments, checkout API and cash-in/cash-out through agents.
- Nagad: the postal-service-backed wallet with a large user base.
- Rocket and Upay, plus bank transfers via NPSB and BEFTN and cards (Visa, Mastercard, local debit).
- Local APMs and crypto used in P2P markets.
Regulation
MFS providers, PSPs and payment system operators are licensed by Bangladesh Bank. Foreign exchange is tightly controlled, which makes cross-border settlement for offshore merchants difficult. Gambling and betting are illegal, and crypto trading is not authorised.
P2P processing and personal wallets
Because licensed gateways cannot serve many offshore and high-risk merchants, a large P2P market operates through personal and agent bKash/Nagad wallets run by teams and traders. Providers compare pay-in and payout rates per wallet, deposit conversion, wallet blocking risk and daily limits, with settlement usually in USDT. See P2P processing. Check legal risks in every jurisdiction before entering this market.
How to choose
- Which wallets are covered: bKash, Nagad, Rocket, Upay
- Merchant (API) vs personal/agent flows
