Overview

dLocal is a Montevideo-based payment platform founded in 2016 and listed on NASDAQ (DLO). It gives international companies one API and one contract for pay-ins, payouts and platform payments in emerging markets, with invoice collection and fraud prevention on the same integration.

Coverage and methods The company states more than 60 markets across Latin America (Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Peru), Asia (India, Indonesia, Japan, Vietnam, the Philippines), MENA (Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt, Turkey) and Africa (Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Ghana). It cites more than 900 local payment methods alongside Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, American Express and bank transfers, including Pix in Brazil, PicPay, NEQUI in Colombia and Rapipago in Argentina.

Stablecoin settlement A separate product connects digital assets to local payment systems, so companies can receive and send funds through one API and use stablecoins in international settlement flows.

Products and fees Listed tools include smart acquiring routing, mass payouts and fraud defence. Fees for pay-ins and payouts depend on the method and range from 0.99% to 5.50%.

Licences and integration Bank of Ghana lists the company as PSP Enhanced, and DLocal Payments Kenya Limited is in the Central Bank of Kenya directory of authorised PSPs, licensed since 1 February 2023. Public API documentation is available at docs.dlocal.com.
