Payment service providers in Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan's payments market is highly concentrated: a large share of consumers pay through the Kaspi.kz super-app, alongside Halyk and other bank apps. This page lists {count} payment providers, P2P platforms and processing teams that accept or pay out tenge (KZT).
Local payment methods in Kazakhstan
- Kaspi: Kaspi QR and transfers between Kaspi Gold cards by phone number — the dominant way to pay for many online services. See QR payments.
- Cards: Visa and Mastercard issued by local banks, plus C2C card-to-card transfers.
- Bank transfers, mobile commerce, and Russian SBP for cross-border flows with Russia.
- Crypto, mostly USDT, for settlement.
Regulation
Banks and payment organisations are regulated by the National Bank of Kazakhstan and the financial market regulator (ARDFM). Crypto businesses are licensed mainly inside the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) by the AFSA. Online betting is allowed only for licensed bookmakers that accept payments through a single accounting centre, while online casinos are not permitted.
P2P and high-risk demand
Because many offshore merchants cannot connect Kaspi directly, P2P processing through local teams is common for gaming, forex and other high-risk verticals. Compare pay-in and payout rates, card blocking rates, daily volume and insurance deposit requirements. See high-risk merchants.
How to choose
- Kaspi coverage (QR vs transfers) and deposit conversion
- Payout speed to cards and Kaspi wallets
- Settlement in KZT, USD or USDT; frequency and network
- Legal status of your vertical in Kazakhstan
