Payment processing in Russia

Since 2022 Russian-issued Visa and Mastercard cards no longer work abroad and international acquirers have largely left, so payments for Russian customers run through domestic rails. This page lists {count} providers, P2P platforms and processing teams that work with RUB pay-ins and payouts.

Payment methods used in Russia

  • SBP (Faster Payments System of the Bank of Russia): instant transfers and QR payments by phone number — the main alternative to cards.
  • MIR cards and C2C card-to-card transfers.
  • QR, mobile commerce and bank transfers.
  • Crypto, mostly USDT, used for settlement between providers.

Why P2P processing dominates

For many offshore merchants the realistic way to accept rubles is P2P processing: customers pay to cards or SBP numbers of traders, and the provider settles the merchant in USDT. Key parameters are the pay-in/payout rate, deposit conversion, card blocking rate (115-FZ checks by banks), daily volume and the insurance deposit traders or teams must post. Compliance first

Payments involving Russia are affected by sanctions regimes in the EU, UK and US and by Russian currency control rules. This directory only lists companies; it does not intermediate deals. Verify every counterparty, its legal entity and the legality of your flows in all jurisdictions involved.

How to compare providers

  • Rates per method: SBP, C2C and payouts often differ
  • Share of successful deposits and average time to credit
  • Settlement currency and frequency, USDT network
  • How frozen funds and disputed transfers are handled
  • Minimum volumes and test period terms
