Launching a PSP on a white label platform
A white label payment gateway is a ready processing platform that you rebrand and run as your own. The vendor provides the core: merchant onboarding, gateway API, hosted payment page, back office, reporting and connectors to acquirers and APMs. You bring the brand, the merchants, the banking relationships and usually the licence. It is the common route for agents, ISOs and payment teams that want their own white label PSP without years of development.
What is usually included
- Merchant and reseller back office with fee plans and settlement reports.
- Gateway API, plugins for CMS and a hosted payment page.
- Pre-built connectors to acquirers, local methods and sometimes crypto.
- Risk rules, 3DS, basic antifraud and transaction monitoring.
- Optional modules: payouts, wallets, P2P flows or a crypto payment gateway white label.
Licensing and deployment models
- SaaS: monthly fee plus per-transaction charge; fastest to start, vendor hosts and keeps PCI DSS scope.
- Licence / source code: one-off fee for a payment gateway script or full code, self-hosted; more control, more compliance work.
- Revenue share: lower upfront cost in exchange for a share of processing margin.
Checklist before signing
- Who owns the merchant data and can you migrate away?
- Which acquirers and banks are already connected in your target GEOs?
- What regulatory permissions do you need — see payment licensing.
- How are updates, security patches and new connectors priced?
- Is there a reference deployment you can see live?
