Payments for SaaS companies

Software and AI tools sell subscriptions worldwide from day one. That creates a familiar list of problems: foreign cards declining, local methods missing in key markets, sales tax and VAT on digital services, and founders in countries where Stripe or Paddle are unavailable. This hub lists SaaS merchants looking for a payment provider, a backup processor or a Stripe alternative.

Common SaaS requests

  • Subscriptions and usage billing with card-on-file and dunning — recurring payments.
  • Merchant of record (MoR) that sells on your behalf and handles global tax.
  • Local methods for growth markets: UPI, PIX, SEPA, wallets in Asia.
  • Second processor for redundancy if the main account is frozen.
  • Company setup in a supported jurisdiction — see incorporation and business accounts.

How to compare SaaS payment providers

  • Supported countries for the merchant entity, not only for customers.
  • Pricing: percentage plus fixed fee, currency conversion, MoR mark-up.
  • Tax handling: whether the provider calculates, collects and remits tax.
  • Payouts: settlement currencies, frequency and minimums.
  • Developer experience: API, checkout, customer portal and webhooks.

Some SaaS niches — AI companions, adult-adjacent generators, trading signals, VPNs — are underwritten as higher risk; check high-risk for providers that accept them.

Using the page

SaaS merchants post requests with their entity country, GEOs and MRR; providers answer or publish terms on the offers board. For billing infrastructure see orchestration and cashier software. Founders can post a request — Nominal hub is a directory and does not process payments.
