Infrastructure for crypto payments
Crypto processing, exchangers, OTC desks and P2P operators all need the same plumbing: wallets, key management, blockchain access and reliable deposit detection. This subsection lists crypto infrastructure providers that sell this layer as a service, so a payment company does not have to run its own nodes and signing systems.
Main product types
- Custody: safekeeping of client and treasury assets, from fully custodial to self-custody tooling.
- MPC wallets: keys split between parties so no single device holds a full private key; policy engines for approvals.
- Wallet as a service: API to create deposit addresses per user, track incoming funds and sweep to hot or cold wallets.
- Node and RPC providers: access to blockchains without running your own infrastructure.
- Crypto processing API: invoices, payment links, auto-conversion and payouts in USDT and other coins — the base for a crypto payment gateway.
What to check
- Supported networks and tokens; for stablecoins, TRON and Ethereum coverage plus cheaper L2 options.
- Security model: MPC or HSM, audits, insurance, incident history.
- Fees: per address, per transaction, per volume or flat platform fee.
- Built-in KYT and AML screening of incoming funds.
- Regulatory status of the vendor and whether you need your own VASP licence.
- Reliability: confirmations policy, reorg handling, uptime track record.
Where it fits
Infrastructure vendors are technology, not counterparties for exchange. For converting crypto to fiat look at crypto-fiat exchangers, OTC desks and stablecoin settlement; for banking a crypto business, crypto-friendly banks.
