Who P2P exchange merchants are
P2P exchange merchants are traders with verified merchant status on centralised P2P marketplaces such as Binance P2P, Bybit P2P, OKX P2P and regional platforms. They post buy and sell ads for USDT and other coins against local currency and complete trades through the platform's escrow. For payment businesses they are a source of on-demand liquidity: converting USDT settlements into local money, sourcing USDT for payouts, or providing pay-in capacity outside the marketplace.
Why businesses work with them directly
- Volume: merchant-level traders often handle larger orders than retail sellers.
- Bank coverage: they typically hold accounts in several local banks and support instant rails like SBP or UPI.
- Predictable pricing: repeat counterparties can agree on spreads instead of chasing ads.
- Off-platform flows: some merchants also act as pay-in or payout traders for P2P providers.
What to check
- Platform merchant badge, completed orders and completion rate — verify on the platform itself.
- Supported banks, payment methods and per-order limits.
- Whether they trade off-platform and, if so, what protection is offered (consider escrow).
- AML practice: whether they screen counterparties and wallets; see AML & KYT tools.
- Response time and working hours.
