AML and KYT tools
Anti-money-laundering obligations apply to PSPs, EMIs, exchangers, OTC desks and crypto businesses alike. This subsection lists vendors of AML screening tools, transaction monitoring software and KYT (know your transaction) services for blockchain wallets.
Fiat AML: what the software does
- Sanctions and PEP screening of customers and counterparties, with ongoing re-screening.
- Rules-based and behavioural transaction monitoring: structuring, rapid movement of funds, unusual geographies.
- Alert queues and case management for compliance analysts.
- Preparation of suspicious activity reports in the formats your regulator expects.
- Audit trail showing who reviewed what and why.
Crypto KYT
- Risk score of a wallet or transaction based on exposure to sanctioned entities, darknet markets, mixers or stolen funds.
- Pre-deposit and pre-withdrawal checks for exchangers and crypto processing.
- Travel Rule support for transfers between VASPs.
- Coverage of networks you actually use — for USDT that usually means TRON and Ethereum at minimum.
For exchangers and OTC desks, a "dirty coins" policy built on KYT data is often what counterparties ask to see first.
How to choose
- Which jurisdictions' sanctions lists and regulatory formats are covered.
- Tuning: can your team adjust thresholds without the vendor?
- Alert volume vs analyst capacity — ask for false-positive figures on similar clients.
- Pricing per screening, per monitored transaction or per wallet check.
- API latency for real-time decisions.
