Payments for video games
This hub covers non-gambling gaming merchants: mobile and PC game studios, top-up and gift-card stores, in-game currency sellers, skin and item marketplaces, esports platforms and play-to-earn (P2E) projects. Real-money gambling is a separate vertical — see online casinos and betting.
Typical requirements
- Small tickets at high frequency: top-ups of a few dollars where fixed fees matter more than percentages.
- Local methods in markets where players rarely use cards: UPI, PIX, e-wallets, mobile commerce, QR.
- Payouts to creators, tournament winners or P2E players — see payouts and crypto processing.
- Hosted cashier or SDK for web shops outside app stores (cashier & payment pages).
Risk points PSPs look at
- Fraud and friendly fraud: stolen cards used for top-ups, and chargebacks from accounts used by minors.
- Item trading and skins: CS2 skins, loot boxes and resale markets are often treated as high risk (high-risk hub).
- P2E and tokens: if in-game assets are tradable for crypto, providers may ask about VASP status.
- Regional rules: some countries restrict loot boxes or require local entities.
How to choose a gaming PSP
Compare approval rates on small tickets, fixed fees, number of local methods per GEO, payout coverage and the quality of the antifraud layer. A merchant-of-record model can also take over taxes and compliance for global sales.
Using the page
Game merchants post requests with GEOs, average top-up and monthly volume; providers reply or publish terms on the offers board. Missing your case? Post a request.
