Swan

Overview

Swan is a European embedded banking platform, founded in 2019 and operated by SWAN SAS, a French electronic money institution authorised by the ACPR, with its address at 91 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, 75008 Paris. It gives software companies APIs and white-label interfaces to build payment accounts, cards and transfers into their products. It is a financial infrastructure provider, so its products should not be read as bank deposits and it should not be credited with every BIN used by its clients.

Products Swan offers company and individual payment accounts, local IBANs (France, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands and Italy), virtual IBANs, instant SEPA transfers and direct debit, physical and virtual Mastercard, and white-label web banking. The company states that it handles KYC and regulatory compliance under its own licence.

Safeguarding and onboarding Swan reports that client funds are segregated at BNP Paribas and Natixis (Groupe BPCE). Company onboarding collects name, registration number, address, activity, expected turnover, representatives and beneficial owners; approval depends on the programme, the bank or EMI and risk review.

Pricing The platform plan is a transparent SaaS subscription, called Swan on demand.

Who it suits SaaS, ERP, PropTech, fintech and marketplace businesses serving European customers that want embedded accounts and cards on a licensed base. Developer documentation is available at docs.swan.io.
