Overview

BitGo is an institutional digital asset platform founded in 2013 and headquartered in the United States. Its US entity BitGo Bank & Trust, National Association, holds OCC charter 25366 and is regulated as a national trust bank.

Custody and wallets

Products include qualified custody, multi-signature and MPC wallets as a service, the Go Network settlement, staking and prime services. The company states it carries USD 250 million of custody insurance. The Go Network and fiat-stablecoin settlement serve exchanges, funds, PSPs and neobanks. BitGo also issues WBTC.

Trading and credit

BitGo Prime, LLC offers OTC spot and bilateral options, and crypto-to-fiat conversion for institutions. Digital-asset financing is available against collateral held in a Go Account; indicative April 2026 haircuts were 5% for BTC, 10% for ETH and 0% for USDC and USDT, to be confirmed by the client.

Scope and access

The provider presents a trust-bank charter, which is not the same as a general deposit account for a VASP. Group trusts operate in several jurisdictions, including Germany under BaFin, Switzerland, Singapore and the UAE. Pricing is by enterprise contract, often based on assets under custody plus wallet and transaction fees. Developer tools are published at developers.bitgo.com.
