Crypto processing for merchants
A crypto payment gateway lets a business accept cryptocurrency on its website or in an app: the customer sees an invoice with an address and amount, pays from any wallet or exchange, and the gateway detects the transaction on-chain and credits the merchant. Most volume today is in stablecoins — USDT on TRON (TRC-20), Ethereum and other networks, plus USDC — because the merchant avoids price swings between payment and settlement.
What crypto processing providers offer
- Invoices and payment pages with automatic exchange-rate calculation.
- Crypto acquiring via API — address per order, callbacks, under/over-payment handling.
- Payouts in crypto — mass withdrawals to users, affiliates or partners.
- Auto-conversion and fiat settlement — receive USDT, get EUR/USD to a bank account (through partners with the right licences).
- On-ramp for customers who pay by card and the merchant receives crypto.
Who uses it
iGaming and crypto casinos, forex and prop trading, digital goods, SaaS with international audience, P2P providers settling with teams in USDT, and companies that cannot get card acquiring in their GEO. Crypto payment gateways for casino brands usually combine deposits, withdrawals and per-player addresses.
What to compare
- Fees per incoming payment and per payout (often in the low single-digit percent or flat per transaction), network fees and who pays them.
- Supported coins and networks, confirmation thresholds, speed of crediting.
- AML/KYT screening of incoming funds and what happens with flagged coins — see AML & KYT.
- Custody model: the merchant's own wallet or funds held by the provider; withdrawal limits.
- Licensing in the provider's jurisdiction (VASP licensing) and fiat settlement options.
