Overview
Computop is a German payment gateway founded in 1997 and headquartered in Bamberg. Its Paygate platform is used by global brands and leading German banks, and it is also sold as a white-label gateway to banks and PSPs.
How the gateway works A gateway sits between the merchant website and the banks or payment schemes. The store integrates once and then switches on the methods it needs on the gateway side, so there is no separate code to maintain for each provider. Typical tasks include passing payment data to the acquirer, adding methods without rebuilding the checkout and unified reporting across channels.
Product set - Computop Paygate and a white-label PSP for banks; - more than 350 payment methods; - P2PE POS for in-store payments; - tokenisation and antifraud tools.
Who benefits Target verticals are banks, PSPs, global retail, gaming, travel and automotive. Stated markets are Germany, wider Europe, the United Kingdom, the United States and China. Banks and large merchants with several channels or countries gain most from one integration.
Terms Enterprise SaaS pricing, and a white-label licence for banks. Exact fees are shared when a project is discussed, so describe your markets and volume when you apply.
