The developer of an early-stage SaaS product in India is looking for a lawful way to accept UPI payments. The request was published in August 2026; the author has personal KYC, a bank account and a website, but no registered company yet.
What is needed - dynamic UPI QR, a code generated for a specific amount and order; - a checkout for payments on the website; - an API and webhooks to grant access automatically after payment; - fast settlement.
Payments are for subscriptions and in-app credit purchases.
Experience with providers - Razorpay delayed the application review; - PayU declined; - Dodo's settlement cycle did not fit.
This is a typical situation for a solo developer without a legal entity: large gateways are cautious about onboarding such merchants.
What to clarify Personal KYC is not the same as merchant approval, so a provider needs to understand: - whether a sole proprietor in this business category can be lawfully onboarded; - what the project's website is; - the monthly turnover forecast; - the settlement timing required.
