A UK startup has built a skill-based competition platform and is looking for prize competition payments. Entries cost £1, so the main requirement is a low all-in fee: with a fixed per-transaction charge, such small payments quickly stop making sense.
Requirements - a card and micropayment gateway; - a WooCommerce integration; - open banking is also being explored; - an acquirer willing to work with a startup.
The model According to the author, entrants answer a skill question and there is a free postal entry route, which is how UK competitions usually stay outside lottery rules. The legal classification and licensing needs have not been independently verified. Entry bundles of £10, £20 and £30 are planned but not live.
Stage The platform is built, launch is ahead and there is no revenue yet.
