What stablecoin settlement is
Stablecoin settlement means paying out balances between payment participants in USDT, USDC or other fiat-pegged tokens instead of bank wires. A PSP settles a merchant in USDT the same day, a P2P provider pays its teams in USDT, a marketplace sends stablecoin payouts to sellers abroad. Settlement providers supply the wallets, conversion, compliance checks and often a bridge from stablecoins to local bank rails.
Why businesses switch to USDT settlement
- Speed: on-chain transfers settle in minutes, including weekends.
- Reach: one rail for partners in many countries without correspondent banking.
- Cost: network fees are usually lower than international wires for frequent settlements.
- Predictability: no cut-off times or intermediary bank deductions.
What providers offer
- Merchant settlement in USDT from card or APM acquiring.
- USDT settlement for PSPs and their sub-merchants, teams and traders.
- Stablecoin payouts to many recipients, sometimes with automatic conversion to local currency.
- Stablecoin bridge / API to move between USDT, USDC and fiat accounts programmatically.
- Treasury tools: multi-network wallets, address whitelisting, reporting.
How to choose
- Supported coins and networks (TRC-20, ERC-20, Solana, Polygon and others) and their fees.
- On/off-ramp currencies and banks for converting to fiat.
- Compliance: KYB, wallet screening and travel-rule handling; see AML & KYT.
- Licences or registrations in relevant jurisdictions.
- Settlement schedule, minimum amounts and API quality.
- Custody model: who controls keys; see crypto infrastructure.
