About

UMACHA, the Upper Midwest ACH Association, is a regional payments association for financial institutions and payments professionals, with the tagline "Sharing knowledge. Creating peace of mind." Its work is practical: Nacha rules, ACH risk, returns and compliance.

This month on the site

On 16 October 2026 it opened the members-only bulk pre-order for the 2027 Nacha Rules, with a deadline of 18 November. It also flagged that Nacha is seeking feedback on first-party fraud topics by 11 December, and that the Fedwire Funds Service release planned for November 2026 has been postponed to November 2027.

Training calendar

Events run through the autumn: an AFPP exam prep series from 20 to 27 October, a Check Exceptions webinar on 21 October, "ACH Rules in Real Life" in-person sessions in Iowa and Wisconsin on 22 and 29 October, and an ACH Reclamations webinar on 28 October.

Services

Education and accreditation programmes, ACH audit and risk assessments, compliance support, wire transfer services and a publications library. For fintechs and processors that originate ACH through Midwest banks, it is a good place to see how the rules are explained to the bank operations staff on the other side.

Payments angle

Nacha rules changes, ACH audits, returns and reclamations training for bank operations and originators, with dated webinars.
