About
Forte Fintech Field Notes is the Substack of Erin McCune, a payments consultant with some 25 years in fintech and banking whose advisory firm is Forte Fintech. The essays follow how businesses move money and manage liquidity where payments, AI and infrastructure meet.
Recent essays
On 16 September she wrote "A New Operating Model for Business Payments", on how agentic AI, tokenised money and instant payments are converging. "Will Tokenised Money Transform Wholesale and B2B Payments?" (6 August) revisits a book chapter and checks how well it has aged. "Cooperation Is the Future of Money. Governance Will Make or Break It." appeared on 12 July. A video conversation with David Hirsch on Stripe/Advent and PayPal came out on 22 July.
Beyond payments
Between analysis the author posts personal pieces: a summer reading list of six novels, a cooking post and, on 17 October, notes on Luca Pacioli and medieval bookkeeping from a trip to Italy. They show the voice of someone who reads widely.
