Overview
ZEUS is a payment service operating in Japan. Its main method is accepting bank cards from customers.
Card payments in Japan
Bank cards are one of the main ways to pay online in Japan, alongside local methods. A payment service handles the shop's technical connection to the card networks: it captures card details, sends the transaction for authorisation and returns the result. The seller does not have to negotiate with each acquiring bank or go through certification alone.
Who it suits
It fits online shops and digital services serving Japanese customers. A local provider is usually more familiar with the market's expectations, from the language of the checkout page to the confirmation flows customers are used to.
What to ask during onboarding
- pricing and per-transaction cost;
- settlement timing;
- supported card networks;
- requirements for the seller's entity, including whether Japanese registration is needed.
These details are not published and are shared on request. The more you tell them about your business and volumes, the more precise the offer will be.
