Overview
Wizzit is a payment processing company with a solution for accepting contactless payments on a phone. The seller does not need a separate POS terminal: the smartphone itself becomes the device the customer taps a card or phone against.
How it works
Phone-based acceptance (often called SoftPOS or Tap to Pay) uses the smartphone's built-in NFC chip. The seller opens the app and enters the amount, the customer taps a contactless card or a phone with a wallet, and the payment goes through just as it would on a regular terminal.
