Overview
Wing Bank is a bank in Cambodia offering acquiring and payment services for businesses. Its key acceptance method is KHQR, the country's national QR payment standard.
What KHQR is
KHQR is a single QR code that apps from different Cambodian banks and wallets can read. A seller only needs to display one code at the till, on a website or on an invoice, and the customer pays it from any compatible app. For the merchant, this removes the need to connect each bank separately; for the customer, payment takes seconds and needs no card.
Bank acquiring
Unlike a non-bank PSP, an acquiring bank holds the merchant's account itself and credits revenue to it. The business gets payment acceptance and a settlement account in one institution, which simplifies reconciliation and accounting.
