Overview
ThePay is a PSP and payment gateway that brings together three payment options: bank cards, PSD2 payments and QR. A merchant connects one solution and lets shoppers choose between card and bank payment.
Payment methods
- Cards: standard online card acquiring.
- PSD2: under this European directive a payment service can initiate a transfer straight from the shopper's account at their bank. For the shopper it means paying without entering a card; for the merchant it is often cheaper than cards.
- QR: the shopper scans a code in their banking app and the payment details are filled in automatically.
Who it suits
The mix works for online stores and services whose customers are used to paying by bank transfer: account-to-account and QR options reduce cart abandonment among people who prefer not to enter card details.

Pricing, supported countries and payout timing are not listed. They are confirmed when you apply, together with the list of banks available for PSD2 payments.
