Overview
Swedbank Pay is the bank-owned card acquiring business of Swedbank. It provides standalone card acquiring for online shops, terminals, unattended machines and phone orders, and serves both online sales and in-store payments.
Services - E-commerce acquiring. - POS acquiring. - Unattended acquiring for vending and self-service points. - MOTO, mail and telephone orders. - Card acquiring for Visa, Mastercard and other schemes, along with mobile payments.
Legal change The payments business was moved from PayEx Sverige AB to Swedbank Pay AB in November and December 2025. The new entity is wholly owned by Swedbank AB (publ) and has Swedish organisation number 559465-5366.
Settlement The company advertises settlement as soon as the next banking day, subject to agreement.
Why a bank acquirer helps When acquiring comes from a bank, funds reach the account without an intermediary, and payment acceptance, the business account and reporting can sit with one provider. For retail with several stores and an online shop, this simplifies revenue reconciliation.
Market Sweden. When requesting a quote, ask whether an account with the group's bank is required and how unified reporting across online and in-store channels works.
Merchant portal and reporting Merchants usually follow transactions, settlements and refunds in the Swedbank Pay merchant portal, with access issued after the acquiring agreement is signed. Before onboarding, ask which reports and exports the portal provides, whether e-commerce and POS transactions appear in one view, and how user roles are set up for finance and store staff.
