Overview

SpotOn is a US payment processing provider for restaurants, retail shops and service businesses. It combines in-store acceptance, a virtual terminal and invoicing.

Methods and tools

  • cards;
  • Apple Pay and Google Pay;
  • virtual terminal — taking payment from card details without a physical device, for example over the phone;
  • invoicing — the customer receives a bill and pays remotely.

Pricing

Prices are published openly. For the small business package they are:

  • terminal — USD 25 per month, hardware — USD 240;
  • in-person card payment — 2.45% + USD 0.15;
  • American Express — 3.19% + USD 0.15;
  • manually keyed card — 3.45% + USD 0.15.

These are the terms of one specific plan, and other packages may differ. The gap between in-person and keyed payments is noticeable, so if you take many phone orders, work out the total cost.
