Why a business ends up high-risk
A bank classes a merchant as higher risk when its niche sees many chargebacks, sales are subscription-based or delivered later, the product is regulated, or the company has no processing history. Such a business needs a provider with partner banks willing to take on that risk.
Onboarding
The company itself states it works with high-risk merchants, but approval of a specific business depends on underwriting. Typical requests include:

Coverage, pricing, reserve size and settlement times are not published. For a high-risk account compare not only the rate but also the reserve terms, which have the biggest effect on working capital.
