Overview
Selective Pay is a merchant services and payment gateway provider that sets up specialised processing for higher-risk industries. Each solution is built around bank underwriting requirements and the gateway's technical conditions.
What sets it apart
High-risk merchants are often declined not because of the business itself but because they miss bank requirements: an incomplete document pack, a weak refund policy, or an unsuitable product description on the website. The provider aligns processing with what the bank and gateway expect, so the application has a better chance of approval.
Who it suits
- Higher-risk merchants
- Companies already declined by mass-market PSPs
- Businesses with a non-standard sales model
Onboarding
The company itself states it works with high-risk merchants, but approval of a specific business is not guaranteed and depends on review. Incorporation documents, statements from previous processing and chargeback statistics help speed things up.
What to clarify
Payment methods, coverage, pricing, reserves and settlement times are not published. For a high-risk account it is especially important to learn the reserve size and holding period in advance.
