Overview
Pegasus Technologies is a payment services provider and gateway in Uganda. It brings together a card gateway, mobile money aggregation and USSD payments.
Methods
- Visa, Mastercard and UnionPay cards;
- mobile money, the main cashless option in many East African countries.
Mobile money aggregation
An aggregator connects a merchant to several mobile wallet operators through one integration. The business does not have to sign with each operator separately, and the customer pays with whichever wallet they have.
USSD payments
USSD uses short codes dialled on a phone. Payments work even on basic handsets without internet, so they reach customers who have no smartphone or reliable connection.
Who it suits
Companies selling in Uganda that want cards and mobile money in one place: online shops, bill payment services, education providers and utilities. Pricing is not published and is discussed during onboarding.
