Overview
PayPoint is an aggregator that collects bill payments through a retail network. Customers of service providers can settle a bill not online but at an ordinary shop near home.
How it works
- A bill issuer, such as a utility or telecom provider, connects to the aggregator.
- Its customer visits a shop in the network and pays the bill at the till.
- The aggregator collects receipts from all outlets and passes them on to the issuer.
Who it fits
The service targets recipients of bill payments: companies whose customers pay for services regularly and do not always use banking apps. Typical examples are energy, water and telecom providers.
Why a retail network matters
Even where online methods are widespread, some people prefer to pay at the till: they have no bank card, do not trust online checkout or are used to paying cash. A retail network reaches this audience and reduces the share of overdue bills.
What to check
Countries of operation, network size, fees for bill issuers and settlement timing are not published. They are provided on request.
