Overview
Payletter is a payment services provider operating in the South Korean market. It helps businesses collect payments from Korean customers through local payment infrastructure.
Why a local provider
Korea's online payment market works differently from those in Europe or the US. Shoppers mostly pay with local bank cards, mobile and brand wallets or bank transfers, and foreign companies find it hard to connect to these channels directly. A local PSP takes over the integration: the seller connects to one provider and gains access to the methods Koreans are used to.
Who it suits
- foreign games, apps and digital services selling subscriptions and in-app purchases in Korea;
- online stores entering the Korean market;
- local companies needing a partner for online acceptance.
What to clarify
Publicly, the company states only its profile and market. Ask for the method list, fees, settlement currency and requirements for foreign merchants at onboarding, as they decide whether a project can operate without a Korean entity and how quickly funds arrive.
