Overview

Payleadr is a payment service provider from Australia that specialises in recurring payments. Its core method is direct debit.

How direct debit works

The customer authorises debits once, and the business then initiates payments from their bank account on an agreed schedule, weekly, monthly or at other intervals. The customer does not need to remember due dates or re-enter details, and the company gets predictable cash flow.

Who it suits

Recurring debits fit businesses with repeat payments:

  • gyms and studios selling memberships;
  • subscription services;
  • education providers taking fees in instalments;
  • companies providing contracted services billed monthly.

Debiting a bank account does not depend on card expiry, so payments fail less often when a customer's card is reissued or blocked. For a subscription business that means less involuntary churn.

What to clarify

Pricing, settlement timing and connection options such as a portal, an API or accounting integrations are not published. Request them and compare the cost per debit with card fees.
