Overview
PayChangu is a PSP and payment gateway operating in Malawi. It gives businesses three tools: online payment acceptance, card terminals and POS systems for physical locations.
Who it serves
- restaurants and cafes;
- retail shops;
- beauty salons;
- service businesses.
All of these take payments in person, so terminals and POS are the main channel. Online acceptance adds the option to sell through a website, take deposits for bookings or accept payment by link.
Why a local provider helps
Malawi is a small market where international payment companies have a limited presence. A local gateway lets small businesses accept cards without contracts with foreign acquirers and receive money into a local account.

Terms
PayChangu does not publish terminal costs, transaction rates or settlement times. These are confirmed on application based on business type and expected volume.
