Overview
KitePay is a payment gateway and merchant services provider focused on high-risk processing. The company underwrites each seller before onboarding and keeps fraud under control at transaction level.
Who it is for
The target audience is businesses from higher-risk industries that ordinary acquirers often decline or restrict heavily. The company states that it works with such industries, but whether a specific project is accepted is decided case by case after review.
How onboarding works
- Underwriting. Before launch the gateway reviews the business model, turnover and chargeback history to set terms and assess risk.
- Anti-fraud control. After go-live, payments pass through filters that screen out suspicious transactions and help keep the dispute ratio within card scheme rules.
For a high-risk merchant this matters: a high share of refunds and fraudulent payments quickly leads to penalties and account closure, so the combination of entry checks and fraud monitoring is the main value of such a provider.
Terms
Fees, reserves, payout timing and the list of supported countries are not published upfront. For high-risk processing they almost always depend on the business profile and are set after underwriting. Prepare a product description, turnover figures and refund statistics to speed up the quote.
