Overview
InstiFi is a payment aggregator and gateway operating in India. The service belongs to Instanow Info Systems Private Limited and lets merchants accept online payments through a single connection, without signing separate contracts with acquiring banks.
What an aggregator and a gateway do
- Gateway — the technical side: the payment form on a website or in an app, and passing transaction data to the bank.
- Aggregator — the financial side: customers' money lands in the aggregator's account and is then paid out to the merchant.
In India such companies operate under the central bank's rules for payment aggregators, so a small business can start accepting payments faster than through direct bank acquiring.
