IndusInd Bank

Overview

IndusInd Bank is an Indian bank that acts as an acquirer itself and gives merchants a payment gateway for taking payments on a website or in an app. For a business, it is a way to connect directly to a bank rather than through an aggregator. It also offers business accounts and escrow.

Payment methods - cards: customers' debit and credit cards; - net banking: the customer approves the payment in their own bank's online banking; - UPI: instant transfers over India's national system, the most widely used way to pay in the country.

Together these cover the main habits of Indian shoppers.

Pricing The bank publishes a zero fee for payments with RuPay debit cards, India's domestic card scheme. For other methods and cards, the rate is agreed when the acquiring contract is signed.

Business accounts and escrow Accounts include Indus One Business, Indus Startup, Indus Max and Indus Premier, with NEFT, RTGS and IMPS channels. There is no opening charge, and Indus Max requires an average monthly balance of INR 10,000. Online opening is limited to individuals and sole proprietors. Indus Escrow serves domestic and international forex deals, with agreement formats and a dedicated team.

Coverage The service is built for India: the merchant needs a local business, and settlement runs through Indian payment infrastructure.
