Overview
HighRiskZone opens local and international merchant accounts for elevated-risk businesses. These are two different routes to acquiring, and the company works with both.
Local or international account
- Local: an account with a bank in the country where the merchant is registered and its buyers are. Usually cheaper with better card approval rates, but local banks are stricter with risky industries.
- International: an account with a foreign acquirer. It helps when domestic banks refuse, but the rate and reserve are usually higher, and some payments may be declined as cross-border.
Having the choice matters when a first rejection has already happened or the business sells in several countries.
Who it is for
Merchants in risky industries. Specific niches and countries are not named, and each business is approved after review.
Terms
Rates, reserves and payout times are not disclosed and depend on the bank that accepts the application. When you apply, state your country of registration, sales markets, volume and processing history; this determines which account type you will be offered.
