Overview
HDFC Bank Merchant Services is the merchant acquiring and payment gateway arm of the Indian bank HDFC Bank. Through it, businesses accept payments at the point of sale and online, and a merchant-facing account programme sits alongside.
Two roles - acquiring: the bank handles payment acceptance at the till and settles with the merchant; - gateway: the technical connection of a website or app to online acceptance.
Having both services at one bank makes life easier for a company that sells offline and online, since the contract, reporting and settlement all stay in one place.
HDFC Vyapar For sellers, retailers and vendors the bank combines a current account with the SmartHub Vyapar app. Plan variants are Biz Lite+, Biz Pro+, Biz Ultra+ and Biz Elite+, and a waiver of the minimum balance depends on programme conditions. Service languages are English, Hindi and Hinglish.
Who it suits Indian businesses that prefer to deal with a bank directly rather than through an aggregator and already bank with it or are ready to open an account. The service covers India.
