Dwolla

Overview

Dwolla is a US bank-transfer platform founded in 2008 and based in Des Moines, Iowa. It offers programmable account-to-account (A2A) and person-to-person transfers through a single API, built around bank accounts rather than cards.

Rails - ACH, the US interbank network behind payroll, supplier payments and recurring debits; it costs less than cards but is not instant; - same-day ACH for faster settlement; - real-time payments through RTP and FedNow, which reach the recipient almost immediately and matter for urgent contractor payouts, refunds or user withdrawals; - push-to-debit.

Product set The listed tools are the A2A API, virtual account numbers and white-label customer onboarding, so a platform can bring its own users in under its own branding.

Who it suits B2B platforms, real estate, logistics, fintech and marketplaces that regularly send money to other businesses or users, including platforms paying out to workers. Because the flow runs on bank accounts, it fits large and repeated amounts. The service covers the United States only.

Terms Pricing is a SaaS contract plus a per-transaction fee. Limits and exact rates are not published and are agreed individually, depending on payout volume and the use case.
