Cross-border payments for business

Cross-border payment providers move money between countries for companies that import goods, pay overseas contractors, collect revenue from foreign customers or run an international money transfer business. Instead of a single SWIFT wire through a chain of correspondent banks, they use local collection and payout accounts in each corridor and convert currency in between, which is usually faster and cheaper.

Typical tasks on this page

  • Paying suppliers in China, Turkey, the UAE and Southeast Asia in CNY, USD or local currency — trade payments for importers.
  • Paying invoices abroad when the company's own bank cannot or will not send the transfer.
  • Payment agents for import — a provider that pays the foreign supplier on the company's behalf under an agency agreement.
  • Collecting from abroad — receiving payments from foreign buyers into local or virtual accounts.
  • Remittance corridors for money transfer operators and fintechs.

What to compare

  • Corridors: which sender and receiver countries are supported, which currencies and rails (SWIFT, SEPA, local transfers).
  • FX margin over the mid-market rate and fixed fees per transfer; for large tickets the spread matters more than the fee.
  • Speed: same day, T+1 or several days; cut-off times.
  • Documents: contracts, invoices and customs papers the provider needs for each payment.
  • Licences and safeguarding of client funds; sanctions screening policy.

Multi-currency and IBAN accounts are in EMI & payment institutions and business accounts. Currency conversion and large tickets — FX & conversion and OTC desks; settlement in stablecoins — stablecoin settlement. Outbound mass payments — payouts.
