Overview
Bankcard International Group is a merchant services company providing a payment gateway for elevated-risk businesses. Its model is full-cycle support: from onboarding to ongoing transaction monitoring, with a sponsor bank involved.
What the service includes
- onboarding the merchant to processing;
- transaction monitoring after launch;
- support from a sponsor bank.
Why a sponsor bank matters
Payment companies that are not banks themselves access the card networks through a sponsor bank, which is accountable to the networks for the provider's merchants. Having such a partner means payments run through a legitimate structure and the merchant gets real acquiring rather than a grey alternative.
Why monitoring matters
In high-risk, chargeback and dispute ratios are higher, and when thresholds are exceeded the card networks fine or terminate the merchant. Regular monitoring helps spot a problem before it leads to an account shutdown.
Who it suits
Merchants in elevated-risk industries that have been declined by banks or want a stable partner with bank backing. Approval of a specific business is not guaranteed and follows an assessment.
Terms
Countries, pricing and payout timing are not listed on the card and are calculated for each merchant profile.
