Bank Alfalah / Alfa Payment Gateway covers two business offers from a Pakistani bank: a payment gateway and a business current account. Companies in Pakistan use the gateway to add online checkout to a website or app and receive settlement from the bank.
Alfa Payment Gateway
A bank gateway takes payment details from the buyer, sends them for authorisation and returns the result to the store. Because the gateway belongs to a bank, payment acceptance and settlement happen within one institution, without a third-party aggregator. Supported methods, fees and settlement times are shared when the bank reviews an application, so a quote requires a description of the business and expected volumes.
Alfa Business Current Account
The account is designed for business operations in Pakistani rupees (PKR) with Alfa Khata sub-accounts. Other features include:
- business debit cards on the Visa network;
- internet banking;
- up to five additional Alfa Apps with separate limits.
The free-services package requires a monthly average balance of PKR 50,000.
Who it suits
- online stores with customers in Pakistan;
- services taking recurring payments, for example tuition or subscriptions;
- companies that prefer to work with a bank directly rather than through an intermediary.
One contract for the gateway and the settlement account is the main practical advantage.
Bank Alfalah in Karachi Bank Alfalah is headquartered in Karachi and has branches across Pakistan, so merchants in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and other cities can apply for the gateway through a branch or the bank's business banking team. Ask for the gateway integration documents, test credentials and the list of supported cards and wallets at the first meeting.
