Overview
Balad is an API platform for inbound international payouts to Egypt. Its clients are money transfer operators (MTOs) and fintech companies that need to deliver funds to recipients in Egypt. According to the company, it receives transfers from more than 120 sending countries through partners.
Payout methods and currencies
- bank account credit, including instant IPN transfers, in EGP, USD or EUR;
- cash pickup in EGP, USD or EUR;
- mobile wallet top-ups in EGP only.
Splitting currencies by payout method matters for settlement: if the recipient wants dollars or euros, the transfer has to go to a bank account or cash pickup rather than a wallet.
Onboarding
Before integration and going live, the business passes KYB verification. This is a standard requirement for cross-border flows.

- REST API to create and track payouts;
- sandbox for testing without real money;
- webhooks with status notifications;
- a dashboard to monitor operations.
Geography
The payout country is Egypt. Senders come from over 120 countries through the partner network.
