Overview
Avarda is a payment service that helps merchants accept buy-now-pay-later (BNPL) payments. The shopper places the order right away and pays later, while the merchant closes the sale without having to extend credit to the customer itself. The company focuses on Northern Europe.
How BNPL works
- the customer picks deferred payment at checkout;
- the later payment is collected by the BNPL provider rather than the store;
- the store gets the order and fewer abandoned carts.
Deferred payment has the most visible effect on conversion in categories with a high basket value, where buyers hesitate to pay the full amount at once.
Who it is for
Avarda targets two segments:
- retail chains;
- online stores and other e-commerce businesses.
Geography
The service operates in Northern Europe, a region where shoppers are long used to paying by invoice or in instalments. Specific countries and merchant pricing are not listed on the card and can be discussed with the team during onboarding.
Getting started
The company offers a product demo before integration, so a merchant can see in advance how BNPL will look in its own checkout.
