ApexPay

Overview

ApexPay is a UK company that provides high-risk processing for merchants. It can be connected as the primary payment channel or as a backup, in case the current acquirer caps volumes or closes the account.

Services

  • primary processing for high-risk merchants;
  • backup processing that takes over traffic if the main provider fails or blocks the account;
  • coverage across several international regions.

A backup channel is especially valuable in high-risk: losing your only acquirer means sales stop, while a second connected provider lets you reroute payments quickly.

Pricing

Pricing is individual, on an interchange-plus basis: the merchant pays the actual interchange and card scheme fees plus a fixed provider markup. This model is more transparent than a flat rate because you can see what the price is made of. Most plans come with no setup fee and no monthly minimum.

Worth knowing

High-risk coverage is stated by the company, but approval of a specific business is not guaranteed and depends on underwriting. The list of regions, payout timing and the legal entity are not published.
