Overview

Alma is a payment service that lets merchants in Europe accept instalment payments; shoppers and merchants often search for it as Alma payments or Alma pay. The buyer splits the order value into several payments, and the store records the sale at once.

Method Instalments, the buy now, pay later (BNPL) model. At checkout the buyer sees how much and when they will pay and confirms the schedule.

Why merchants use it - higher conversion on expensive goods, since splitting the amount makes the purchase easier to decide on; - a larger average order, as buyers more often choose a pricier model or add items; - fewer abandoned carts at the payment step.

Who it is for - Retail: stores where a customer can set up instalments right at the till. - E-commerce: online shops adding instalments as one of their payment options.

The service fits sellers of furniture, electronics, sports equipment and other mid to high-ticket goods.

Coverage Europe. Specific countries are not listed in the description, so check where Alma payments are available for your shop when applying.

Terms The merchant fee, the number of instalments and the time it takes for money to reach the store are not published and are given when connecting.
