Adyen

Overview

Adyen is a Dutch payments company, founded in 2006 and headquartered in Amsterdam, that brings online and in-store payments, risk management, authentication and card issuing together on one platform. The legal entity is Adyen N.V.

Products

  • more than 200 local payment methods;
  • payments on websites, in apps and in stores;
  • the RevenueProtect risk engine, with ShopperDNA graph, Dynamic 3DS2, custom risk rules and A/B risk testing;
  • issuing and other financial products for businesses.

The company says ShopperDNA links a shopper's online and offline behaviour into one risk graph. Risk tools are part of the Adyen processing stack rather than a separate service.

Industries

Retail, travel, hospitality, SaaS, marketplaces, food and beverage, mobility and digital platforms. E-commerce and gaming are among the listed traffic types.

Pricing and settlement

Pricing combines a fixed per-transaction fee with a payment method fee, and rates vary by country and method. There is no setup fee and no monthly fee, while extra products are billed separately. Merchants can choose settlement timing and currency, with the schedule agreed individually.

Coverage and partners

Adyen operates internationally, and eligibility depends on the merchant's country. Integration is via API. The company also recruits technology and service partners, including consultants, implementers and merchant support providers.
